Name: Capturing the Spirit of the Land and Sea - Fine Art Exhibit at Marcela's Village Gallery
Date: August 10, 2019
Time: 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM PDT
Mendocino Coast, by Hilda Kilpatrick-Freyre
Event Description:
"Capturing the Spirit of the Land and Sea"

A Fine Art Exhibit featuring the following artists:

Peter Holbrook (1940-2016) was known as one of foremost landscape painters of the Southwest and the West Coast.  In his 60 year career as an artist, he had gallery affiliations from New York to California including over 60 solo exhibitions. He has been the subject of numerous catalogs, magazine and newspaper articles, and included in many art and painting anthologies, most recently, The Art of the National Parks by Stern and McGarry. Many major museums have collected and exhibited his work including The Oakland Museum of Art, The Springfield (MO) Museum of Art, The Boise Art Museum, The Tucson Art Museum, The Art Institute of Chicago, The Brooklyn Museum, and the Smithsonian National Collection of Fine Art.

Hilda Kilpatrick-Freyre is a visual storyteller. Her body of work is a pictorial narrative that reflects the artist's interpretation of the sentiment.
The inspiration in Kilpatrick’s subject matter derives from the notion that her scenery may be drastically different in a few years, or gone altogether. Environmental changes, overpopulation, urban growth are but a few factors that attract the artist to capture the current landscape.
Her characteristic loose brushwork, warmth-infused surfaces and fresh painterly approach are evident in her body of work.

Please join us for a fun evening of Art & Food! Refreshments will be served!
